I'm having an issue with my landline telephone.  What do I need to do?

If you have an AVAYA "VOIP" (Voice over Internet Phone) telephone, please:

1.  Track the cable that goes from the phone to the wall jack and write down the wall jack number.

2.  Unplug the cable from the wall jack.

3.  Wait for 30 seconds.

4.  Plug it back into the same wall jack you unplugged it from.

5.  Wait for it to complete the reboot process and then test it.

6.  If your computer is connected to your AVAYA phone, test your computer also and make sure that it's connected to the network by going to a website.

7.  If the steps listed above don't resolve the issue, please follow the instructions below.

If you have a regular phone or continue to have issues with AVAYA phone, please note that the local NEC has control over the phone systems. To address this issue, please:

1.   Open the "Self Help" ICON on the desktop.

2.   Use the Self Help tools and FAQ before selecting Submit Ticket.

3.   User your AUTHENTICATION certificate when you log in with your CAC card.

4.   Click SOMETHING IS BROKEN.

5.  Go through the prompts and complete ALL required fields. In the notes be as detailed as possible.

Phone number. Building Number. Point of Contact information. Details of the problem.

6.  Click SUBMIT and the NEC Telephone Branch will be in contact with you.
